Christmas Activities 2019

Christmas is a favorite holiday at WCBC and we have a lot going on. This page can help you keep all the activities straight.

Children and Student Programs:

December 13th: Coloring Contest Due
December 14th: Jingle all the Way for Ages 4-12 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
December 15th: Children’s Musical Program @ 7 p.m.
December 18th: Last day of Kool Kids for the year after school until 5:30 p.m.
December 18th: Sr. High Overflow will meet at 5:30 p.m.
December 18th: Last Junior High Youth Group 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. We will meet again in the New Year starting on January 15, 2020

Other Programs:

Sundays in December join us for Advent services.
December 20-21st Live Nativity from 6 to 8 p.m. each evening
December 24th Christmas Eve Service at 7 p.m.

Holy Week Services

Holy Week Starts on Palm Sunday, April 14, 2019 and ends with Easter on April 21, 2019. We would love to have you join us in Walnut during this special week.

Palm Sunday Service 9:00 a.m. on April 14th

Good Friday Service 12:00 starting at the First Christian Church in Walnut and ending back at WCBC.

Sunrise Service 6:30 a.m. on Easter Sunday, April 21st

Easter breakfast from 7:30 to 9:30 between Easter services on April 21st

Easter Worship Service 10:00 a.m. on Easter Sunday, April 21st

December Services

Welcome to Advent at Walnut Community Bible Church. Sunday Service times this month actually don’t change this year. We will meet each Sunday morning –  December 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd, and 30th at 9:00 a.m. Each service will include a special remembrance of advent. All are welcome.

Easter Services 2018

Take time the Easter Season to pause and reflect on the true celebration of the holiday.  Here are a few events at WCBC and in the surrounding area that will give you an opportunity to remember the death and resurrection of the Christ. All are welcome; so come and bring your family and friends.

Palm Sunday Service March 25, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. at WCBC enjoy the special children’s bell choir performance.

The Living Last Supper March 25th  at 4:00 p.m: On Palm Sunday the New Bedford Christian Church (434 Main St, New Bedford, IL) will be hosting this drama, performed by the men of St. John’s Lutheran in Peru. Each of the disciples shares their thoughts about their relationship with Jesus, and wonders who it is that will betray Him. A freewill offering will be taken for the Western Bureau County Food Pantry.

Good Friday Walk in Walnut: March 30th at 12:00 p.m.: A short service starts at the Christian Church followed by the Good Friday Walk with participants carrying the cross. The walk will end at the Methodist Church where lunch is served.

Easter Sunrise Service April 1, 2018 at 6:30 a.m. at WCBC

Easter Breakfast following the sunrise service there will be an Easter breakfast lasting until about 9:30 at WCBC

Easter Worship Service and Cantata April 1, 2018 @ 10:00 a.m. at WCBC

Christmas Activities @WCBC

The Christmas season is here and WCBC wants to help your family celebrate. Here is a list of our upcoming Christmas activities all in one place.

Each Sunday Morning: Join us as we celebrate Advent focusing on Hope, Love, Joy and Peace this season. 9am on Sundays in December.

December 9th: Jingle all the Way – a play day for kids at WCBC that gives parents an opportunity to shop, wrap or whatever they need to do to prepare. 9am – 4pm. Kids ages 4 – 12.

December 15-17th: Live Nativity: Journey to the Manger. Walk or Drive through this touching display. Each night from 6-8pm.

December 24th: Candlelight Christmas Eve Service at 7pm.

December 25th: Christmas breakfast hosted by WCBC at the Walnut Community Building. 7 – 11am.
