Why Aren’t Things Going Better?
Bible Text: 1 Thessalonians 2:1-6, 2 Corinthians 11:22-28, Isaiah 48:10 | Speaker: Eldon Cook | Series: Lessons from Thessalonians | In Thessalonians Paul is going to teach us that hardship does not negate the success of an endeavor. With a look at Paul’s “resume” in 2 Corinthians 11, we will see that Paul was not immune to hardship, and yet Paul with God’s help is found sharing the gospel in spite of opposition. We will learn that true success comes from God working in us. Success will not be with our power, skill, or capability but through Christ’s and for his glory. While Satan seeks to discourage, undermine and cause you to quit, God is declaring you to be approved, entrusted, and pleasing.
