Let’s start at the end today and work backwards with our Bible passage today…

Today we see in Mathew that Jesus was amazing teacher. He taught with authority an authority that was directly from God. People throughout the gospels were amazed by Jesus.

Through the gospels we see that Jesus had authority not just over the physical realm of nature and its laws but also over the spiritual realm. We remember how Jesus walked on water, calmed the winds, changed water to wine and healed diseases.

Today’s lesson leaves each of us with a True or False question. You either believe that Jesus has all authority. Or you don’t.

The challenge is to build your life on the true authority–Jesus Christ.
