Lessons from Ezra
The Old Testament book of Ezra opens with the people of Israel deep in captivity, and God moving the heart of King Cyrus to rebuild the temple in Jerusalem.
We read about God both working to accomplish His purposes and to keep His promises. We see opposition, discouragement and fear take hold of people and how the Word of the Lord will bolster them to finish the work.
This story can remind us that we too have a Word from God and He is calling us for His purposes that he will accomplish in us regardless of opposition, fear, and discouragement.
