Let's take a look at the Return of Jacob to the Promise Land. We can see from Jacob that we shouldn't make decisions from the position of fear. We can see the importance of prayer in our fear. But  we also see how answers come after we submit to God. We have to come to grips at some point with who we really are. We can leave our dark night with the sun/son in our eyes.

For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light (for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth)  and find out what pleases the Lord. Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them.
