Faithful Followers
Elijah is lead prophet in Israel. Elisha is his successor. Our Bible passage starts in Elijah’s last day in which Elijah is directed by God to various places: Gilgal to Bethel to Jericho to the Jordan River. While we don’t know why Elijah has been called to these places we do find that Elisha has committed to stay with Elijah until the end. From this story we explore 3 characteristics of faithful followers.
1. Faithful followers overcome tests of faith and temptations along the way.
2. Faithful followers eagerly desire to serve God in greater ways.
3. Faithful followers rely on the power of God.
