Children and Family Ministries

Matthew 19:14 Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” At WCBC children are welcome.  Children are welcome in the Sunday services but may also may choose to attend children’s church or nursery.  Sunday school classes are offered each Sunday after the morning service.  Other events for children and families include Parent’s Night Out, Vacation Bible School, Harvest Festival and the Live Nativity.

WCBC Children and Family Ministries

Nursery: While children are welcome in the services, the younger set may choose to hang out in the nursery. Plenty of toys to play with and kind caregivers to ensure that their time is enjoyable during the Sunday service.
Children’s Church: 3 to 8 year olds may participate in children’s church which includes a lesson and a craft. Children are dismissed from the sanctuary before the sermon. Children’s Church meets most Sunday mornings. Check the bulletin for availability each Sunday.
Sunday School Classes: 18 months old to 5th graders are able to participate in Sunday school classes after the morning service from 10:45 to 11:30 a.m.
Kool Kids: School age children meet at the church each Wednesday after school for a fantastic children’s program that merges both faith and fun.  Meeting starts at 3:30 p.m. after full-length school days during the school year.
Baby Dedications: Blessing the children and encouraging new parents is a long tradition of the Christian faith.
Vacation Bible School: Kids have fun each summer at VBS. The dates and theme for 2018 are to be determined. VBS is often held in late June to early August and generally runs in the evenings from 6:00-8:30 p.m.
Jingle All the Way: Near Christmas kids are invited to join us at the church for games and crafts while parents get ready for Christmas.
Live Nativity: Come Christmas, be sure to drive the family through the Live Nativity often held the weekend before Christmas day. Make it a family tradition and enjoy the cocoa and cookies.
Children’s Choir: This past year the children participated in a handbell choir. The handbell choir preformed for Palm Sunday and a couple of weeks before Christmas. Everybody enjoys the children’s choirs.
